The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) successfully performed 45 pediatric urology surgeries in Turkmenistan as part of a voluntary medical project. The program, which ran from February 21 to 28, 2025, was conducted by the ‘Al-Balsam’ Association for Training and Health Development. This program is part of KSRelief’s ongoing efforts to provide medical care to low-income individuals and families in various countries through its wide-ranging voluntary healthcare programs.”

The Al-Balsam medical team, comprising 14 doctors, nurses, and technicians, performed pediatric urology surgeries at the Scientific-Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. They worked closely with the local medical team. Officials from the Turkmen Ministry of Health emphasized that the Al-Balsam medical team was dedicated to sharing their knowledge, guidance, and expertise with local doctors throughout the campaign, contributing to the enhancement of their skills and enabling them to benefit from the experience of the visiting specialists.
During the voluntary medical urology project in Turkmenistan, the Al-Balsam medical team successfully performed 45 surgeries, benefiting 13 children. Additionally, 14 other children received comprehensive medical examinations and necessary healthcare, all within over 42 working hours in the operating and examination rooms.
At the end of the project, a ceremony was held to honor the Al-Balsam medical team. The event was attended by His Excellency Mr. Nawaf Al-Rashid, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Turkmenistan, Dr. Muhammet Ergeshev, Director of the Department of Treatment and Prevention at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, and other officials from the Turkmen Ministry of Health.
Dr. Ergeshev expressed his gratitude to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) and the Al-Balsam Association for Training and Health Development, noting his satisfaction with the success of the ‘Al-Balsam’ campaign in Turkmenistan, which not only met but exceeded its goals
